LISLE, Ill. – The MSOE men's volleyball team won a pair of five-set matches over Loras and Benedictine Wednesday evening in a triangular at the Rice Center.

The Raiders (3-1) opened with a win over the Duhawks (0-3) 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-8 in the second match of the day. Then, in the finale, they downed the host Eagles (2-2) 26-28, 25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 15-11.

Senior Nick Manning led the way against Loras with 17 kills, four serviceaces and 10 digs. Sophomore Joe Humpal added 17 kills and five aces, while freshman Quin Krisik continued to guide the offense efficiently with 57 assists and five aces.

Michael Kreiser led the Duhawks with 10 kills and was one of two players with seven total blocks for the first-year program

Errors made it difficult for the Raiders to pull away in the match. They had a 69-32 advantage in kills and outhit Loras .236 to .165 edge, but committed 26 service errors and 34 attack errors in the match. The Duhawks finished with just nine service errors and 16 attacking miscues.

MSOE's second match nearly followed the same script as the opener, with the Raiders forging a 71-39 kill advantage. Service errors continued to be an issue, as the home team committed 14 fewer.

Despite the errors, the Red & White offense continues to look dominant at times in the early goings this season. Manning added another double-double with a match-best 20 kills and 13 digs, in addition to another five aces. Freshman Neil Naughton added 18 kills.

Krisik had another strong setting performance with 61 assists. He lent a hand on defense, as well, with 12 digs.

The Raiders return to action in Cincinnati for four matches at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational.
