Box Score

KENOSHA, Wisconsin – Senior Sam Stealey finished with 12 kills and hit .550 for the MSOE men's volleyball team but it was not enough in a 25-21, 25-14, 25-23 sweep at the hands of No. 2 Carthage Wednesday evening at the Tarble Center.

The Raiders (12-7) hung with the Red Men (20-1) in the first and third sets, though were unable to get over the hump and extend the match.

Stealey finished with just one error in 20 attacks on the night. Sophomore Jake Christensen added nine kills.

Kelvin Rivera had 12 kills to lead Carthage, which also got eight kills from Evan Walsh.

An early 10-2 run put MSOE in an insurmountable hole early in the second set but the team came out strong in the third frame to take a 10-5 lead. Carthage hung close and, after pulling within 19-17, seized control of the game with five-straight points to take the lead at 22-19. The Red & White put up a fight with three-of-four points down the stretch to pull within 24-23 but it was to no avail.
