Box Score MEQUON, Wis. – The MSOE Raiders men's volleyball team quickly dispatched the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran on Tuesday night to secure their first NACC win of the year. Tonight served as an encore to that performance. The Red & White had some early first set struggles but it was smooth sailing after that as they took down Concordia Wisconsin in straight sets on Thursday evening.
RESULT
(RV) MSOE RAIDERS – 3 (26, 25, 25)
Concordia Wisconsin – 0 (24, 16, 16)
HOW IT HAPPENED
(RV) MSOE (3-1, 2-0 NACC) played their poorest set of the evening in the first frame tonight, but you can use the term poorest loosely here. The Raiders had 15 kills in 47 total attacks, but their 11 errors allowed Concordia Wisconsin (1-3, 1-2 NACC) to keep pace. With the Falcons leading 22-21, the Raiders rallied to score the last five points to win 26-24. For as much as they let CUW stick with them in the first, it was the total opposite in the second. MSOE started off the set on a 15-4 run, forcing their rivals to the north to call both of their timeouts very early on in the frame. A 5-0 Concordia Wisconsin run let them pull closer, but it wasn't anything that would threaten the Raiders victory, allowing them to go up 2-0. The third and final set was a little more competitive but there wasn't much that CUW was going to be able to do with the Red & White hitting .500. The Falcons prevented any major runs but the Raiders easily strung enough points together to coast to the 25-16 victory and take the ballgame in straight sets.
