MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's volleyball put their 2-0 NACC record on the line when they took on Marian this evening inside Hotchkin Arena. The Sabres had an unblemished 3-0 in their own right and only one team could walk away from the match with their perfect conference record intact. Unfortunately, it was not the Raiders. The Red and White battled early but could not get over the hump in the later sets, falling to the Sabres by the score of 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
(RV) MSOE (3-2, 2-1 NACC) opened the game with a self-induced extra point thriller in the first set. The Raiders and Marian (5-0, 4-0 NACC) combined for 64 tallies but the Red & White came out on the losing end thanks to 12 attacking errors in the frame. MSOE also had five service errors and found themselves down 1-0 after losing hold of an early 10-2 lead. Fortunately, they quickly tied up the ballgame with a dominate performance in the next set. The Raiders hit .433 and had 16 kills as they dismissed the Sabres by nine, bringing some positive momentum into the middle portion of the match. Things did not continue this way unfortunately. The Red & White had hitting percentages of .069 and .024 in the third and fourth sets. While Marian did not play much better, they were able to string several small runs together in each stanza to put some distance between themselves and the home team. MSOE kept getting close but never were able to bring themselves even with the Sabres in either set as the Red & White fall for the first time in NACC play.
