Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Having already locked down a NACC tournament spot, MSOE men's volleyball headed into tonight's contest just looking to improve their seeding chances going into next week. Unfortunately, they were not able to do much against the third best team in the nation as they were swept by Dominican on Tuesday evening.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 0 (18, 22, 20)
#3 Dominican – 3 (25, 25, 25)
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (8-7, 7-3 NACC) played well this evening, but came way with nothing to show for it. The Raiders only committed 13 errors in their match against No. 3 Dominican (13-1, 10-1 NACC) but so did the Stars. The Red & White hit .229 as a team but DU hit .341. It seemed like everywhere you looked Dominican was just slightly one step ahead and it is reflected in the final score of the match. Though MSOE lost 25-18 in the first frame of the night, they came within three points of winning set two and were only five behind in the third and final set. One big difference was the number of kills and blocks the two teams had. The Raiders slammed home 32 kills but only had two team blocks on the evening. Dominican on the other hand had 42 kills and denied the Red & White attackers a total of nine times. The Raiders held the lead in every set but just couldn't quite get there in their 3-0 loss.
