Box Score MILWAUKEE – It was a battle of top 15 teams this afternoon inside Hotchkin Arena as #15 MSOE and #10 Dominican squared off in a ballgame that was originally supposed to be played back in mid-February. The Raiders were never out of the contest at any point, but a poor attack percentage allowed the Stars to take home the 3-0 non-conference victory on Saturday.
RESULT
#10 Dominican – 3 (25, 25, 25)
#15 MSOE RAIDERS – 0 (19, 21, 20)
HOW IT HAPPENED
#15 MSOE (4-3, 3-1 NACC) entered this afternoon's ballgame fresh off a 3-0 win against Lakeland on Friday night. The Raiders offense had a lights out performance against the Muskies and the hope was that would transition over into today's matchup with #10 Dominican (7-1, 4-1 NACC). Unfortunately, that was not the case. The Red & White hit .074 as a team and did not have a set attack percentage over .091. The Stars had no issues on the other side of the net, putting together a total hit mark of .230 and never committing more than four errors in a frame. MSOE never held the lead in the first or third set and there were only three lead changes and six ties the whole contest. The Raiders will look to exact revenge when the two teams meet again when the game counts towards the conference standings in late March, but for now they will have to settle for a 3-0 defeat.
