Box Score 2 CHICAGO – MSOE men's volleyball continued its busy weekend this afternoon when they participated in their first tri-match of the 2022 season. While the Raiders were able to come away with a victory over host Illinois Tech, the Cougars of St. Xavier (Ill.) gave them troubles forcing the Red & White to go 1-1 on the afternoon in Chicago.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. Illinois Tech
- MSOE (6-2, 2-0 NACC) had no issue securing their second NACC win in as many nights as the Red & White dismissed Illinois Tech (5-4, 1-1 NACC) in straight sets.
- The Raiders hit .304 as a team and committed just 14 errors over the three sets while never letting the Scarlet Hawks cross the 20-point threshold in any frame.
- Josh Kleinschmidt led all players with 15 kills while Tommy Clausz had 11 of his own.
- vs. St. Xavier (Ill.)
- Things were a bit different for the Raiders in their second match of the day. They took on NAIA opponent St. Xavier (12-5, 5-0 CCAC) who proceeded to give the Red & White fits en route to a 3-1 victory.
- MSOE struggled on the offensive end and were only able to send home 31 kills. One major statistic truly made a difference in the contest however and that was the 14 service aces that the Cougars were able to come away with.
- Austyn Bella had ten kills and Lucas Miller registered 24 assists in the Raiders second loss of the season.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders have won all five games against Illinois Tech in a series that dates back to 2016. As for St. Xavier (Ill.), today was the Red & White's first loss against the Cougars.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will continue their longest road stretch of the season when the travel to Plymouth, Wis. to take on Lakeland next Saturday at 12:00 pm.
