Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's volleyball won it's first three games of the 2022 season but faced their first true test tonight against No. 6 North Central. It was a close match between the two squads but the Raiders just couldn't quite get there in a three set loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday night inside the Kern Center.
RESULT
No. 6 North Central – 3 (25-28-25)
MSOE RAIDERS – 0 (19-26-17)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (3-1, 0-0 NACC) got down early in set one but fought back to make things interesting against No. 6 North Central (5-0, 0-0 CCIW). The Raiders would get within one point several times but could not close the gap in a 25-19 loss to the Cardinals.
- Set two was a back-and-forth affair in which there were 14 ties and 5 lead changes. The Raiders hit just .108 but NCC committed ten errors on their own end. Each squad climbed out of four-point holes and the period was tied almost every other serve in the latter half, ultimately leading to extra points. Unfortunately, an attack error ended the Red & White's hopes of tying the match up and fell 28-26.
- MSOE just didn't have it in the third and final set. The Raiders had almost as many errors as they had kills while the Cardinals successfully attacked 11 times and committed just three miscues. North Central started the frame on a 7-2 run and eventually took the win 25-17.
RAIDER REMARKS
- North Central has now won two in a row against the Raiders but MSOE still holds the series advantage 4-2.
