HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (12-7, 7-2 NACC) had no issue in the first two sets of the evening against Edgewood (6-13, 3-6 NACC). The Raiders had a combined 24 kills and only seven errors as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead with 25-16 and 25-17 wins.
- The much-improved Eagles had some fight in them though and attempted a comeback. They turned in a .500 set and strung together 12 kills to beat the Red & White 25-20 and force a fourth set.
- Edgewood almost got the match to go the distance and gave the Raiders fits in what proved to be the final frame of the night. It was a back-and-forth affair with the Eagles holding set point over MSOE before the Red & White rallied off three straight points to end the game with a 27-25 victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- While the rivalry between the two ballclubs is still young, the Raiders have won both contests that have been played.
