HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. St. Norbert
- MSOE (14-7, 8-2 NACC) did some lineup experimenting in game one of the afternoon against NACC foe St. Norbert (6-13, 2-8 NACC). The new player combinations worked out well for the most part outside of the first set where the Green Knights snuck up on the Raiders for a 25-22 win.
- The Red & White won the next three sets pretty handily, including coming away with victories in the last two frames 25-10 and 25-17 respectively.
- The team hit .239 as a whole and saw 12 players register at least one kill. Individually, Tyler Christensen had a game high 11 tallies while Kalvin Fellows had 29 assists in the MSOE 3-1 win.
- vs. No. 15 Loras
- The Raiders were prepared for a battle against Loras (20-5, 8-2 CCIW) in their second match of the afternoon. The 15th ranked Duhawks were the first opponent for the Red & White in the national polls since they took on No. 5 Stevens back on March 5th.
- The match was incredibly even with each team trading points back and forth, especially in the first set. With Loras leading 22-21, the Raiders rattled off six of the last eight points to win 28-26.
- Things would eventually get somewhat easier for the Red & White as they hit .667 in set two with 16 kills and no errors. They ended up finishing off the Duhawks with another double digit kills performance and a 25-20 victory.
- Austyn Bella, Tommy Clausz, and Christensen each had double digit kills and Jacob Sirny helped out with three total blocks.
