HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a hot start for MSOE (4-6, 2-0 NACC) as they jumped out to a 5-1 lead at the start of the first set by errors from Missouri S&T (6-8, 2-0 D1 Independent). The Raiders kept their lead steadily through the midway point of the set, but the Miners slowly cut their deficit eventually tying the game at 17. It became a back and forth battle the rest of the set with the Miners taking it 25-23 on a service error.
- The Raiders couldn't find any spark offensively only having an attacking percentage of .040 during the second set. The Raiders stayed strong throughout the midway point keeping the battle tight before a 4-0 run gave the Miners a 18-13 lead, eventually finishing off the set with a 25-19 victory in set two.
- The Raider defense was able to respond in the third set and was able to go back and forth the Miners as the set was tied at the 18-point mark. The next to points went to the Miners and that's all it took to give them the momentum the rest of the way as they finished off the sweep with a 25-21 set three victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- This is the first of three non-division III opponents on this road-trip, as they face Maryville tomorrow evening and Quincy on Wednesday.
- Carter Shavitz was the only Raider with double-digit kills, totaling 10.
