HOW IT HAPPENED

  • MSOE (3-4, 1-0 NACC) held a short lead through the beginning part of the first set. Two separate 4-0 runs in the second half allowed the Raiders to completely run away with the set 25-14.
  • Illinois Tech (3-5, 0-1 NACC) calmed down to start the second set, not allowing the Raiders to pull away at all. Forcing to go past the 25-point mark, the Raiders regained their momentum from the first set to finally take the second 30-28.
  • The Scarlet Knights kept their fight throughout the third set as well. A 7-0 run brought the momentum over to their side to take the set 25-19 to avoid the sweep.
  • The Raiders' defense locked things down for the fourth set as the Scarlett Knights had a hitting percentage of just .077, allowing the Red & White run away 25-19 to take the match.
