Box Score MILWAUKEE – A back-and-forth battle went down in the Kern Center Wednesday night, ending with a victorious MSOE men's volleyball team over Marian University 3-2.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
Marian – 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a tale of two matches as the first set was a tightly contested battle pushing past the 25-point mark as MSOE (6-11, 3-1 NACC) took the last two points with a service error and an attacking error from Marian (11-7, 4-3 NACC) for a 30-28 set victory for the Raiders. The two sides went past the 25-point mark again in the second set, this time leaning on the side of the Sabres as they took the set 26-24.
- The script completely flipped to begin the third set as the Sabres held a 9-7 advantage to begin the third set before rattling off four straight points to swing the momentum all on their side. The Sabres easily finished out the set winning 25-13. The Raiders swung the momentum their way as they began the third set on an 8-3 run capped off by a dump from Nick Stachura. More small runs throughout the set helped give the Raiders a 25-14 set four win to force a fifth set.
- Shades of the first two sets began as a 11-9 lead from the Sabres was slowed slimmed from a kill from Carter Shavitz and error from themselves to force a back-and-forth rally. While tied at 16, back-to-back blocks from Ted Simpson and Tommy Clausz sealed the final set 18-16 to cap off the comeback for the Raiders.
RAIDER REMARKS
