HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wisconsin Lutheran (4-16, 0-6 NACC) had a strong showing to begin the first set as they held a short lead throughout most of the beginning stages. However, with MSOE (7-12, 5-2 NACC) down just 23-21, the Raiders led by Alex Cretors went on a 5-1 run to steal the first set from the Warriors 26-24. The Raiders carried that momentum into the second set as they jumped out to a 18-8 lead relying heavily on Eric Mueller. The Raiders completely ran away with the second set 25-12 to take a 2-0 lead.
- Unfortunately, the Warriors fought back in the third set gaining control with an 19-11 lead. A run by the Raiders late got them two within one, but a Raiders service error gave the Warriors a 25-23 set three win. A clear battle in the fourth set as it went back and forth the whole way tied at 24 all late. The final two points going the way of the Warriors forced a fifth set to be played.
- The Warriors had the slight edge early as they led 12-9. They worked all the way to 13-11, but a 4-0 shift of the momentum ended the final hopes to the Warriors comeback, winning the set 15-13.
