KENOSHA, Wis. – The MSOE swimming & diving teams competed at the Wisconsin Showcase where they saw multiple top-ten finishes, including
Evan Scapanski and
Gabby Schmid each getting finishing in the top-three.
MEN'S TEAM RECAP
- Scapanski had the highest finish for the men, finishing in third in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:16.04. He also added a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, hitting the mat in 59.45. Theodore Thomas and Caleb Brewer each had fourth-place finishes, first with Thomas in 50-yard freestyle in 21.46 and Brewer in the 100-yard freestyle in 48.19. Brewer also had a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 52.11.
- In the relays, the group of Tyler VanGompel, Murphy Roszak, Thomas, and Isaac Urban finished in a time of 1:37.66 in the 200-yard medlay to take third, while Brewer, Blake Bubniak, Urban, and Thomas also finished third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:28.30.
WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP
- Schmid let the women with multiple top-three finishes, first coming in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.37 to finish second and then in the 200-yard butterfly to take third in 2:19.11. Schmid also added an eighth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, coming away with a time of 1:02.56.
- In the 500-yard freestyle, Mackenzie Solberg took fifth with a time of 5:50.97, while Jayden Buenemann and Chloe Pisanelli finished seventh (5:57.42) and eighth (5:57.71), respectively. Solberg also had a ninth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:44.22, while Pisanelli added an eighth-place finish in the 400-yard IM in 5:19.95.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will head back to Carthage next weekend for a double dual against the Firebirds and Lake Forest College. Action is set to start at 12:00 p.m.
