Box Score MILWAUKEE – Junior Logan Andryk scored twice to lead the MSOE men's soccer team to its fifth-straight win, a 4-1 victory over Concordia Wisconsin Saturday afternoon at Viets Field.
The Raiders (13-3, 7-0 NACC) took down the Falcons (5-10-1, 3-4 NACC) remain perfect in the conference and at the top of the standings with 21 points.
Andryk got MSOE on the scoreboard with a penalty kick strike in the 16th minute. Freshman Braden Andryk was taken down from behind to earn the PK.
The elder Andryk then generated his own opportunity just under 10 minutes later on a takeaway at midfield. After deflecting a pass into the clear for himself, he made a long run into the penalty area and chipped the on-rushing goalkeeper.
After halftime, the second half the match saw fewer scoring chances either way and was played largely in the midfield. MSOE finished the match with a slight 11-9 advantage in corner kicks and conceded one more corner kick (6-5). The play was physical throughout, as 43 fouls were called and five yellow cards issued.
The Red & White defense posted its ninth shutout of the season, with senior Garrett Farin stopping both shots he faced for his seventh clean sheet of the campaign.
MSOE is back in action Tuesday, hosting Edgewood at Viets Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
