Raiders Downed 17-2 at Concordia Wisconsin

MEQUON, Wis. - Senior Jesus Arguelles and freshman Andrew Clemens each scored goals for the MSOE lacrosse team in a 17-2 loss at Concordia Wisconsin Thursday afternoon.

The Raiders (0-3, 0-2 MLC) allowed 13 goals to the Falcons (3-2, 2-0 MLC), but stemmed the tied in the second half and pulled a couple goals back.

CUW got on the scoreboard with five goals in the first period, then tacked on eight more in the second.

The MSOE defense stepped up in the third quarter, limiting the Falcons to just one goal. Arguelles scored with 3:12 remaining off an assist from sophomore Michele Pancini. After a home goal, Clemens got on the scoreboard, unassisted, with just over a minute to go to make it 14-2.

Concordia added three more goals in the final frame.

Senior Adam Kocsis made 10 saves in goal for the Red and White, as it was outshot 38-13. Three goalies combined on eight saves for the winning side.

David Mueller and Derek Brueske each had hat tricks with three goals apiece for the Falcons.

The Raiders return to action Saturday at Elmhurst.
