ROCKFORD, Ill. – Three different players scored goals and the MSOE men's soccer team held a commanding 25-3 shot advantage in handing Rockford a 3-0 defeat Tuesday afternoon at Sam Greeley Field.

The Raiders (7-2, 2-0 NACC) needed senior Garrett Farin to make just one save against the Regents (1-7-1, 0-2 NACC) to claim his fourth shutout of the season and the team's fifth.

Senior Jorn Witte wasted little time in putting his team ahead, rising above the RU defense on a sixth-minute corner kick from junior Logan Andryk.

The goal was Witte's fourth of the season and third game-winner, while the assist was Andryk's 12th. That broke the school single-season record of 11 set by Jon Phillips in 2000 and added to his nation-leading total.

MSOE doubled its advantage in the 30th minute when junior Brock Shilling opened freshman Braden Andryk up with a pass over the defense. The younger Andryk took the pass and finished for the score.

The offensive pressure continued throughout the match, and in the 56th minute senior Marius Prestin made it 3-0 to cap the scoring. Junior Daniel Frey set up Prestin with a centering pass into the penalty area and the German beat the keeper from 12 yards out.

In addition to the lopsided shot advantage, the Raiders also forced 13 corner kicks in the match compared to just one by Rockford.

All three of the goals were the scorer's fourth of the season, giving the Red & White five players with a team-high four this season (Logan Andryk, Shilling).

MSOE returns to the field Saturday, hosting Concordia Chicago at Viets Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
