Box Score MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's soccer team scored four times over a 5:28 period in the first half to set the tone and never looked back in a 7-0 victory over Concordia Chicago Saturday afternoon at Viets Field.
The Raiders (8-2, 3-0 NACC) featured five different goal scorers against the Cougars (3-3-2, 1-2 NACC), including two apiece by junior Logan Andryk and freshman Braden Andryk.
It was the elder Andryk who got the scoring started in the 13th minute, taking a pass from junior Brock Shilling and hammering home a goal. His brother followed with his first of the game just 2:12 later, unassisted after taking the ball from a defender.
Logan then set up back-to-back goals 2:10 apart, freeing senior Jorn Witte with a through ball and later teaming with Witte to free junior Jerry Rubio in the box to make it 4-0.
MSOE picked up where it left off in the second half, as senior Drew Porter found freshman Silas Linares in the penalty area in the 53rd minute for his first goal as a Raider. In the 67th minute, Porter's back heel set up Braden Andryk's second goal of the game.
Logan Andryk capped the scoring less than a minute later, taking a through ball from his brother for a 1v1 with the keeper.
The Red & White attack finished with 31 shots in the match, putting 18 on goal. CUC starter Jorge Guzman made 10 saves and gave way to Ariel Manjarrez for the final 4:49. The second Cougar keeper stopped a shot of his own.
Defensively, the Raiders conceded 11 shots in the match, with a trio of keepers teaming on the clean sheet. Senior Garrett Farin turned in another scoreless outing with a pair of saves in the first half. Sophomores Sean Stelter and Jeff Clements split the second half in goal, with Clements making a save.
MSOE returns to action Wednesday, hosting North Central at Viets Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
