Box Score MILWAUKEE – The 13th-ranked MSOE men's volleyball team saw its eight-match winning streak come to an end against No. 14 Mount St. Joseph, 25-23, 25-18, 27-25 Saturday afternoon at the Kern Center.
In a rematch from Jan. 25 in Cincinnati—a five-set MSOE win—the Raiders (8-2, 1-1 MCVL) fell behind and could not catch the Lions (7-3, 2-0 MCVL) in three tightly-contested sets.
Senior Nick Manning led MSOE with 13 kills and three service aces. Freshman Neil Naughton finished with 10 kills and five blocks, while freshman Quin Krisik had 35 assists in the match.
Alex Vohland paced MSJ with 13 kills.
Despite the sweep, the Raiders were in each set, but just could not overtake the Lions. Both teams collected 37 kills in the match and points were 49-48.5 in the visitor's favor. The difference on the court came down to just a handful of errors difference. That led to a .261 to .162 attack percentage advantage for Mount St. Joseph.
MSOE will look to bounce back when No. 5 Carthage visits the Kern Center Thursday.
