MILWAUKEE – Sophomore Clay Gustafson scored seven goals to lead the MSOE lacrosse team to a school-record 22 goals in a 22-0 rout of Carroll Wednesday evening at Viets Field.

The Raiders (3-4) scored nine first-quarter goals on the Pioneers (0-4) and coasted to the largest victory in school history (21 goal margin). It was also their third shutout in program history and first since 2014.

The 22 goals reset the school record of 20 goals scored two times last season, including at Carroll in the season finale. MSOE also outshot Carroll 71-0 in the game, falling one shot of the school record for shots in a game and holding an opponent without a shot for the first time ever.

After scoring nine times in the first quarter, the Raiders struck for just one goal in the second period. In the third quarter, they scored four times, including twice in seven seconds three times in 40 seconds. During an eight-goal outburst in the fourth quarter, the Red & White netted back-to-back scores just eight seconds apart.
