Box Score ROCKFORD, Illinois – Senior Braden Andryk scored goals in the 47th and 59th minutes to erase a 3-2 deficit and help the MSOE men's soccer team to a 4-3 victory over Rockford Saturday afternoon at Sam Greeley Field.
The Raiders (6-3, 2-1 NACC) trailed the Regents (2-8-1, 1-3 NACC) at 2-1 and 3-2 before Andryk took over the game late and sparked the victory.
The score was tied at 2-2 at halftime after senior Mikey Perez scored an equalizer off a rebound just 1:17 before the intermission.
Rockford then re-asserted its lead at 3-2 just 44 minutes after halftime. Andryk would record just 40 seconds after that, following freshman Sam Gianakos' shot for a rebound tap-in at 46:24. Andryk would then get a breakaway just over 12 minutes later, burying the shot in the back of the net for the eventual game-winner.
MSOE found itself playing catch-up despite holding a decisive 29-7 shot advantage with 19 shots on target. The team also took eight corner kicks in the game compared to just three for the Regents.
Senior Sean Tabbert opened the game's scoring with a header off a cross from Perez. Then, in a game of quick answers, Rockford leveled the score just 28 seconds later.
The home side would follow with a go-ahead goal less than four minutes after that for a 2-1 lead.
A pair of keepers kept the Regents in the game, making 14 saves on the day with an additional team save clearing a shot by junior Stephen Bagin off the line in the 67th minute.
Junior Riley Bruce made two saves in goal for the Red & White team earn the win.
The Raiders remain on the road their next time out, playing at Marian Wednesday evening.
