Box Score NAPERVILLE, Ill. – After coming out on the winning end of a five-set thriller to open the season this past Saturday against Augustana, the (RV) MSOE men's volleyball team saw their first true test of 2021 when they headed to Illinois to take on #14 North Central. The Raiders were able to come away with an opening set victory, but poor hitting the rest of the way led to their first loss of the new campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
(RV) MSOE (1-1, 0-0 NACC) won their first set against #14 North Central (2-0, 0-0 CCIW) this evening, though they did not attack exceptionally well. The Raiders had 11 kills but also tallied seven errors on their way to a two-point win. While the attack percentage went up from .108 to .138 in the second set, the kills did not. In fact, the first frame was the only one in which they would register double-digit kills in the contest. On the other side, the Cardinals would finish the ballgame with a .213 hitting percentage after scoring a total of 52 kills while the Red & White hit just .083 in their first defeat of 2021.
RAIDER REMARKS
- One game after Jacob Sirny nearly tied the all-time single game blocks record, fellow junior Matthew Binkus saw his quest for history fall just short as well. Still, his eight combined blocks are good for third in a game in the Raiders record books.
