Box Score MILWAUKEE – Playing a game that was originally scheduled for mid-February, MSOE lacrosse took on the Vikings of Augustana in a very rare Wednesday afternoon matchup. The contest was thrilling all the way to the very end, but it was the Raiders that were on the wrong end of a last second goal at Viets Field.
RESULT
Augustana – 8
MSOE RAIDERS – 7
HOW IT HAPPENED
Even though MSOE (0-6, 0-0 NACC) was banged up coming into this afternoon's contest with Augustana (3-1, 0-0 CCIW), the Raiders still put together their most well-rounded game of the season. The Red & White scored three in the first quarter, as Liam Brown, Erik Nelson, and Max Jenney put MSOE up 3-1 in the first 15-minutes. After a scoreless second, each team posted three tallies to the scoreboard in the third, setting up the Red & White with a two-goal lead entering the final frame. Unfortunately, this is where the Vikings offense kicked it into high gear. Augustana scored three unanswered goals before Nelson got his second of the afternoon to tie the game at 7-7 with just under three minutes left. However, Augustana would be the final team to get onto the scoresheet, scoring with just 19 seconds left in regulation to take down the Raiders by the score of 8-7.
