HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (2-1, 2-1 NACC North) and Concordia Wisconsin (2-1, 2-1 NACC North) had to battle a fierce wind during Wednesday's contest, ensuring that this would most likely be a low scoring affair no matter who took home the victory. The squad playing with the wind at their backs definitely had the advantage which is clearly seen in the shot totals for each period. The Raiders outshot the Falcons 11-7 in the first but were on the wrong end of things in the second via a 10-4 deficit. CUW had a chance to take the lead early on in the second half via a penalty kick but the attempt sailed way over the goal defended by Ron Marchionna. Everything was silent in the first 90 minutes, so the Raiders were forced into their first overtime contest of 2021. It didn't last long. Joey Schauer buried his fourth goal of the season thanks to a nice pass by Konrad Knap at 91:16 to give the Raiders the 1-0 win.
