Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. – MSOE lacrosse started off conference play this evening without a win all season, though they came close several times. Well, they are winless no more. The Raiders upend Marian 10-5 on the road on Wednesday evening for their first victory of 2021.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 10
Marian – 5
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was all MSOE (1-7, 1-0 NACC) to start this one tonight up north. The Raiders scored three unanswered goals in the first quarter and Tanner Whipps was involved in all of them. Whipps opened up the scoring with an unassisted tally less than two minutes into the game and proceeded to earn the assists on Liam Brown and Sam Thompson's goals. Marian (3-3, 0-1 NACC) mounted a comeback in the second frame, but the closest they were able to get was within one. The Sabres would never hold the lead in the ballgame and another big Raiders stanza made sure of that. The Red & White scored four more unanswered goals in the third, with Whipps tallying three of them. Marian outscored MSOE in the fourth but it was far too little too late as the Raiders double up the Sabres for their first win of the season.
