HOW IT HAPPENED
If you look up the definition of dog fight in the dictionary, you might find a picture of this game right next to it. MSOE (3-8, 3-1 NACC) and Concordia Wisconsin (4-6, 2-2 NACC) went back and forth all night, trading goal for goal as each team did their best to earn a big conference win. The Falcons opened up the contest by scoring the games first two goals before the Raiders scored two of their own to end the first quarter in a 2-2 tie. CUW would outscore the Red & White to the tune of 3-2 in the second but MSOE came right back in the third and outscored the Falcons by the same margin. All knotted up at 7-7, Sam Thompson scored to give the Raiders their first lead of the game with 6:12 left to play. Tanner Whipps then scored the last of his five goals just four minutes later to give MSOE the two-point advantage which would prove to be the margin of victory. Sean Finneran stopped 11 shots and came up with several big saves as the Raiders take down CUW for the second straight time and earn their third NACC win of the year.
