Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE lacrosse was back at home for the first time since March 17th and coming off their first win of the year three days ago against Marian. Their opponent was Illinois Tech, a team they had never played against in program history. The Red & White will probably want to play them more often based on their seven goal win this afternoon at Viets Field.
RESULT
Illinois Tech – 3
MSOE RAIDERS – 10
HOW IT HAPPENED
This one had the blueprint of a back-and-forth affair until the MSOE (2-6, 2-0 NACC) defense stepped up and took over. Illinois Tech (0-3, 0-3 NACC) scored the games first goal just 31 seconds after the opening faceoff, but the Raiders responded quickly. Tanner Whipps once again started the scoring for the Raiders, a tally that was followed up by goals from Sam Thompson and Whipps again. The Scarlet Hawks got within one at the end of the first but were only able to score once in the second. The Red & White took a 5-3 lead into halftime and they would go on to increase the IIT deficit. MSOE scored five unanswered goals in the second half to move to a perfect 2-0 in NACC play with a 10-3 win on Saturday afternoon.
