Box Score MILWAUKEE – As the calendar turns the page to October, MSOE men's soccer is now in the thick of their NACC season. Today, they welcomed Concordia Chicago to Viets Field in hopes of securing a homecoming weekend victory. It wasn't an easy win from a physicality standpoint but the Raiders still controlled the pace of the game and won 3-1.
RESULT
Concordia Chicago – 1
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (10-0-1, 5-0-0 NACC) knew that they were in for a physical contest and the game played out as expected. The Raiders did their part in grabbing the advantage early though when Freddy Comparato netted the first goal of the game off assists from Zach Thompson and Daniel D'Amato at 20:09.
- It would take 56 minutes for the Red & White to score again but they took the 2-0 lead when Thompson connected with Lu Shi Peng Xiong in the 77th minute.
- Concordia Chicago (0-8-1, 0-5-1 NACC) tried to make things interesting with a goal of their own with 11 minutes left on the clock, but Kilian Oelrich got it right back less than a minute later thanks to the helper from Connor Dees.
- Outside of the lone Cougars goal, there was only one other ball that had to be saved between the tandem of Ethan Houseworth and Asher Harris in the Raiders 3-1 victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- After a 2-1 loss to CUC last year, the Raiders got back on track and are now 9-1 in their last ten games against the Cougars.
