MILWAUKEE – First place MSOE men's soccer hit the pitch at Viets Field looking to create more distance between themselves and the rest of the pack when they took on Benedictine on Parent's Day. The Raiders were put in an unfamiliar position by having to play catchup, but were able to score two second half goals to salvage a tie against the Eagles on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Benedictine (6-6-3, 5-3-1 NACC) was the first team to strike this afternoon which is something that MSOE (11-1-3, 6-1-2 NACC) hasn't had to deal with a whole lot this year. The Eagles goal at 22:07 was the only one of the first half, putting the Raiders down 1-0 heading into the intermission.
• BU found the back of the net for the second time in the 55^th minute, giving the Red & White only 45 minutes to catch up.
• The comeback started when Kilian Oelrich buried an unassisted goal at 66:27 to pull MSOE within one and the German would come up big again before the match was over.
• With time ticking down on the game clock, Tanner Cellio knocked home an Oelrich pass to even the game up at 2-2 with nine and a half minutes left to go.
• The Raiders had two or three more decent chances to untie the game and grab the win but ultimately the clock would expire, handing each squad a point in the 2-2 draw.

RAIDER REMARKS

• The Raiders are now 1-1-1 in their last three games against Benedictine with today's tie but are 6-3-1 overall in the last ten contests between the two teams.
• Earning a point with the tie was key as there are eight teams within five tallies of each other heading into the last three games of the NACC regular season.
