Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – MSOE men's volleyball was back on the East Coast for the first time since the 2020 season and were ready to make an impact when they took on No. 2 Vassar. Though the score might not reflect it, the Raiders played right alongside the Brewers in a 3-0 loss on Tuesday night.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 0 (17 | 25 | 18)
No. 2 Vassar – 3 (25 | 27 | 25)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (7-3, 3-0 NACC) played a very competitive match against the second-best team in the country in Vassar (12-2, 4-0 LL). Unfortunately, errors got in the way of the Raiders going up 1-0 in the match. They committed seven miscues in the first set and fell 25-17.
- The Red & White had the Brewers on the ropes in the second set and led almost the entire way thanks to 13 kills and a .258 attack percentage. Vassar wouldn't be denied though. Down 25-24, the home team rattled off the next three points to go up by two in the match.
- MSOE had its poorest offensive set in the third and had almost as many errors as kills. The Raiders never led in the period and fell to Vassar in straight sets thanks to a 25-18 defeat.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Tuesday was just the second time that Brewers and Raiders have meet. Their previous meeting took place in March of 2013 and was won by Vassar 3-0.
