MSOE RAIDERS – 11
Augustana – 6
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Augustana (0-2) took advantage of a man-up opportunity to begin the game, but MSOE (1-0) was quick to respond. The Raiders turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead thanks to goals from Sam Thompson, Andrew Reed, and Liam Brown.
- The Vikings fought right back and tied things up in the second before Brown and Kyle Hedblom allowed the Red & White to take a 5-3 lead heading into the locker rooms.
- The close contest continued into the second half as each team exchanged a trio of goals, allowing MSOE to keep their two-tally advantage heading into the final 15-minutes of play.
- It was all Raiders in the fourth though. The defense kept Augustana off the board while Sam Thompson and Tanner Whipps each added a strike. Liam Brown also scored his third of the game to preserve the Red & White's five goal win.
RAIDER REMARKS
- This was the first ever win for the Raiders over the Vikings. They came into the contest having gone 0-7 in the all-time series which dates back to the 2012 season.
