AURORA, Ill. – MSOE men's lacrosse was in the postseason for the third straight year and ready to take on Aurora in the first round once again. The Raiders fell behind early against the Spartans however and could never get out in front as their campaign finishes with a 10-4 loss on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Fourth seeded MSOE (11-5, 6-2 NACC) never led in this evening's game against top seeded Aurora (13-5, 8-0 NACC) as the Spartans tallied the first two goals before the Raiders could find the scoresheet.
• The Red & White cut the AU lead in half with a late first quarter goal from Erik Nelson, but Aurora would tack on two more to go up 4-1. Back-to-back goals from Tanner Whipps and Peter Russchenberg once again got the Raiders within a single strike but it was all Spartans from that point on.
• Four straight Aurora goals created enough distance for the regular season league champions who outscored the Red & White 5-1 in the second half as the MSOE season comes to an end in a six goal defeat.

RAIDER REMARKS

• Goalie Sean Finneran broke his own record with 169 saves in a single season and finishes second in program history with 352 in his career.
• Jerred Willhelm broke the Raiders career record with 278 ground balls.
