Box Score ROCKFORD, Ill. – It's no secret that MSOE men's soccer has started off the 2022 season hot, but the question was could they keep it going on the road against Rockford. The answer to that question was simple as the Raiders outshot the Regents 20-5 on their way to a 2-1 win on Saturday.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
Rockford – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (8-0-1, 3-0 NACC) dominated Rockford (3-3-3, 1-2-0 NACC) overall in NACC competition even though the final score might not reflect it.
- The Raiders were the first to get on the board as Zach Thompson netted a Steven Arthur pass just 1:02 into the first half. The Red & White wouldn't hold the lead for long, however. The Regents tied things up just 12 minutes later and we'd end the half with the score of 1-1.
- The Raiders bided their time and finally took the lead for good when Kilian Oelrich buried the game winning goal off a cross from Freddy Comparato in the 75th minute for this fourth goal of the year.
- Rockford only managed five total shots and Ethan Houseworth stopped the only one that headed his way for the freshman's second win on the year.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders are still perfect in their overall series against the Regents, owning a 14-0 record against them dating back to 2008.
