GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The MSOE men's lacrosse team returned to field to start the 2023 season falling in a heartbreaking overtime battle against DePauw University.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Each side scored one goal in the first 10 minutes of the first period, but the back five minutes going into the second period saw a 4-0 run from DePauw (2-1). Kyle Hedblom broke the run with 3:46 left in the half, but the Tigers scored just a minute later. Peter Russchenberg put one in with 22 seconds left in the half to go into the break down 6-3.
• Russchenberg found the back of the next within the first minute of the second half before the Tigers scored the next two goals. For the rest of regulation, it was all MSOE (0-1) as they went on a 4-0 run, with the game tying goal in the final minute, to force an overtime period tied 8-8.
• The Tigers came into the overtime period firing putting heavy pressure on the Raider defense. After taking three shots, the Tigers scored with 2:11 left for the walk-off victory.

RAIDER REMARKS

• The Raiders defense held strong not giving up a single goal when playing a man down. It was a complete-180 for the Raider offense however, as they were 4-6 when a man up.
