Raiders Dismantle Pioneers In Shutout

Box Score

MILWAUKEE – Trying to beat the inbound weekend snow storm, MSOE men's lacrosse took on Carroll one day earlier at Viets Field. The Raiders jumped out to a massive lead and never looked back as they downed the Pioneers 23-0 on Friday night.

RESULT
Carroll – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 23

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • MSOE (2-3) had no problem cruising to victory tonight at Viets Field, jumping out to an 8-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of play and scoring the winning goal (Tanner Whipps from Riley Woyatas) just 1:15 into the contest.
  • The Raiders owned an 11-0 lead at the break but did even more damage in the second half with 12 as the Red & White's defense kept Carroll (2-8) off the board for the duration of the game. In fact, the Pioneers only got 13 shots off in total.
  • MSOE had seven players with two or more goals, led by Soren Savard with five, and the four goalie tandem kept the scoresheet clean in one of the most lopsided wins in Raiders history.

RAIDER REMARKS

  • The Raiders are a perfect 6-0 against Carroll all time. This was the third shutout of the Pioneers in the series history and the Red & White have scored at least 20 goals in all but one of those games.
  • Several Raiders entered the single game record books with their efforts in tonight's contest:
  • The team also had a collective single game record as well. Their 70 total shots are good for fifth in the history books.
