Box Score MILWAUKEE – Senior Logan Andryk scored two goals and sophomore Braden Andryk added a late insurance goal to lead the MSOE men's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Dominican in the 2015 NACC Tournament Championship match Saturday afternoon at Viets Field.
The Raiders (14-4-1) won their second-straight NACC Championship over the Stars (12-5-3) and earned the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Logan Andryk scored a penalty kick in each half to stake MSOE to a 2-0 lead. Both penalty kicks were awarded after hand balls in the box by Dominican defenders. The first came just 92 seconds before halftime and sent the Raiders into the intermission with a 1-0 advantage.
Then, in the 67th minute, Andryk netted his league-leading 21st goal of the season to make it 2-0.
The Stars would pull a goal back in the 77th minute, as Fernando Telles headed in a corner kick to make it a one-goal game. The score came as DU pushed to get on the scoreboard, but it would last just as long as that one score.
MSOE took advantage of the visitors on the counter-attack and, in the 82nd minute, re-established the two-goal lead. Sophomore Mikey Perez found Braden Andryk down the sideline with a long outlet pass down the right side. Andryk beat his defender to the inside and slotted home a shot at the far post.
The Raiders held a 14-11 shot advantage in the game, including 9-5 in the second half. Junior Sean Stelter made four saves in the game, including a pair of tremendous stops in the second half, to solidify the win.
Logan Andryk's goals pushed his career total to 61, making him just the fifth player in NCAA soccer, Division I-III, to score 60 goals and 60 assists in a career.
