Box Score LAS VEGAS, Nev. – MSOE women's basketball headed to Las Vegas shortly after the Christmas holiday to wrap up their 2019 schedule with two games in the D3hoops.com Classic against two east coast teams. RESULTS
University of New England – 63
MSOE - 52
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (4-5, 4-1 NACC) knew they would be in for a challenge when they headed to Sin City, as the two teams they were scheduled to face were established and featured solid rosters and game plans. University of New England (8-2, 3-0 CCC) was no exception, but the Raiders still made them earn every point of their victory. Even though the Red & White shot just 30 percent from the field, they were never out of contention. MSOE was only down by seven heading into the intermission but would need to find a way to stop UNE's offense. New England shot 46.9 percent throughout the game, and even though each team had 22 turnovers, the Nor'easters converted them into 22 points while the Raiders produced just 11 off of the mishandles. MSOE outscored New England in the third quarter 20-18, but the comeback stopped there as they tallied just nine points in the final quarter of their fifth defeat of the season.
