Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's soccer entered the final day of the regular season with a lot of uncertainty as their postseason outcomes could have put them anywhere from a two seed all the way down to fifth. Thankfully, the dust settled long before the Raiders hit the pitch which allowed the team to try a few different things in a 5-3 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran on Senior Night.
RESULT
Wisconsin Lutheran – 5
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (9-6-3, 7-3-2 NACC) had the advantage of already knowing their postseason fate going into this evening's contest which allowed the team to rest key players in advance of Saturday's quarterfinal.
- The Raiders still kept things competitive in the first half starting with Freddy Comparato's goal to kick off the scoring. Credit goes to Zach Thompson on the assist.
- Things went back and forth with each team trading goals as the Red & White also got tallies from Thompson and Jack Van Dyke.
- It was all Wisconsin Lutheran (7-11-0, 5-7-0 NACC) in the second half, however. The Warriors scored three unanswered to head into their offseason with a two-goal win over the Raiders.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The 5-3 defeat was the Raiders first loss to WLC since October of 2016. MSOE still owns a commanding 21-3-2 series advantage.
