Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's soccer was back in action just two days after a dramatic come from behind tie against Elmhurst and looking for win number seven when Lakeland visited Viets Field. There wasn't a lot of action on either offensive end, but the Raiders got timely goals when they needed them in a 2-0 win over the Muskies.
RESULT
Lakeland – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It didn't take long for MSOE (7-0-1, 2-0 NACC) to light up the scoreboard this evening against Lakeland (2-3-2, 0-3 NACC). Connor Dees helped the Raiders take the lead when he assisted on Nathan Dresen's game winning goal in the 14th minute.
- All was quiet from that point on for quite some time. The rest of the first half came and went without any scoring and so did most of the second before Freddy Comparato scored his sixth of the season to put MSOE up by two.
- Brody Ping and Joey Moore shared time in net for the Raiders with neither of them allowing a ball to sneak by them. The keepers stopped all five Muskies shots that headed their way in the 2-0 shutout win.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The win marks the third straight game where the outcome has been in the Raiders favor against the Muskies. Overall, the Red & White are 15-3 against Lakeland dating back to 2006.
- Out of the seven MSOE wins this season, six have been shutouts.
